Telepresence can be interpreted as simple as zooming, but also robots that can be controlled from afar that can interact with its environment. It can also be interpreted as being in a mediated place even though your physical body is not there.

There is a side that believes are interactions through telepresence are not real, as well as those who believe that they are real because they feel real.

The professors own experience is that during the pandemic, the more she was in a physical place someone was in, the more she felt the sense of telepresence. She describes it as feeling even more connected to her friends when she zoomed them because she had been in there homes already. They start to lose track of where they are and the time goes by.
