2.) How do you gather and put together information for an article?

Based on section... topic of the day. For campus, editors pitch stories. Panel with feature on faculty when not a lot is going on. Cannot verify story= not valid for print (Rolling Stone)

3.) What is the first step you take in the early stages of writing an article?

Campus article- Editor pitches idea, understand what conclusion you want to get, contact sources

4.) How do you formulate a specific style of writing for the newspaper?

6.) What steps are taken before a story can get published?

7.) How long does a story take to get published?

one week

8.) Since the Carroll News is published weekly, not daily, how do you determine the importance of articles that are written and what to cover?

Publish things that will stay timely. News generally breaks on Wednesdays, so they will take news from around that period and form stories out of things that will stay relevant.
